Deadly airstrikes kill and displace hundreds in Lebanon
Israel’s bombing of Lebanon on 23 September 2024 has caused by far the deadliest day in Lebanon since the crisis began almost a year ago.
According to latest reports, over 500 people have been killed and over 1,800 wounded, including children and many other civilians.
Hundreds of Israeli airstrikes tore through residential areas, as families are fleeing the south of the country in terror.
Since 8th October 2023, there has been a rise in cross-border confrontations between Israel and Lebanon. As a consequence, several thousand families from South Lebanon have fled their homes.
This latest escalation is likely to force many more families from their homes. More than 116,000 people in Lebanon have already been displaced over the past year and many are now in desperate need of aid. At least 24,000 residential buildings have been badly damaged or completely destroyed.
